Should we kill the caged bird if it wakes up?

Posted in Uncategorized on April 11, 2009 by grisly77

When it comes to those of us with paranoid, questioning minds there is always a riddle that eventually must be answered: Is it better to remain ignorant to the world around us or is life actually better once we open our eyes to the things going around?

All it really takes is questioning one thing to open up a whole other world. Once that door is open, is there a way to close it? Once we question something (oh let’s say, the Kennedy assasination) and come to the conclusion that the truth is being hidden, is it ever really possible to deny everything you’ve seen and put the blinders back on? Or are we stuck with the visions of seeing the ’second gunman’ forever?

In this kind of world – a planet ruled by technology and electronic gods – everything seems like a question. Yes, I am mostly talking about government, conspiracies, NWO kind of things. Yes, it probably seems crazy to a lot of people – it should in fact.

Maybe the question really is, “Who is more crazy? The person seeing ghosts or the person denying the apparitions?”

I don’t know.

What I do know is that being in the ‘awakened’ state of seeing things that may or may not be there – the government apparitions if you will – makes one weary. We act like prophets, spouting off on our soap boxes to anyone who will listen, “The end is nye, grab your guns, bibles and booze!” but at the end of the day is it even worth it?

That question is easily answered – yes.

Even showing one person Endgame and awakening to the coming fist of fascism is worth it. Just knowing that one more person was helped onto the next level as you is a good feeling, even if the level you are on i one of constant weariness. A level where you can’t truly trust much of…anyone.

The machine is not broken, it is running better than ever. It is lubricated with the blood of civilian and soldiers. The naysayers (us) and the slaves.

So is it better to always be questioning or is it better to remain blissfully ignorant? To be the caged bird or the bird on the outside looking in?

Who is to tell which one sings more beautifully, what I do know is that writing this made me ask more questions than answers.

I hope someone gets some use out of my pondering.

The Intolerance of Liberals

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on November 11, 2008 by grisly77

Jane Q. Republican reports on the intolerance of liberals. Apparently the majority of blacks in California who shown up to vote for Obama also voted for the gay marriage ban, Prop. 8. Showing up and voting for their statist candidate wasn’t enough apparently. Celebrities, people and pundits are all blaming the blacks for voting in the ban.

The “lovely” Rossanne Barr being one of them:

As [blacks] overwhelmingly supported America’s first chance to elect a person of color and strike a death blow to racism, they also went out of their way to misuse their votes (no doubt at the behest of their immoral and hateful pastors and clergy) to isolate and punish a small minority of citizens, and to deny them basic civil rights.
They voted to deny over 70,000 californian children coverage of the insurance benefits of their gay parents. They voted to destroy the constitution that Obama will hopefully uphold against their wishes, by making sure that church and state remain separated.

I thought marriage was a religious institution? No matter apparently.

Personally I do not have much of an opinion on gay marriage for several reasons, mainly because it does not affect me in the least. While I understand the liberty argument (ie a gay person having the right to be miserable like any husband does after several years of marriage), I would contest that if the tax breaks were taken out not as many people would care. Being a libertarian I believe in no income tax anyway.

Hence, it does not matter to me.

What DOES matter to me however, is the hypocricy of the American liberal. Open minded? Please. Liberals are so ‘open-minded’ that their brains have apparently fallen out. The intolerance of liberals is astounding. While talking about equality and civil rights out of one side of their mouth, as soon as someone opposes their beliefs why, by-golly that person should just shut their mouth. What do they know?

I think this is best seen when it comes to liberals and the Church. The most recent episode in a a complete TV series full of indiscretions was what Vanhelsing at Right Wing News refers to as when “militant homosexuals” attacked a church. Apparently a group of pro-gay rights “queers and transexuals” (their words on their Web site, DEFINITELY not mine) flooded into a church right after prayer was finished (some were already inside) yelling obscenities, carrying a banner that read ‘JESUS WAS GAY’ and throwing glitter and confetti everywhere. They pushed through the men, women and children while “two women made their way to the pulpit and began to kiss.”

Thank you for your version of “tolerance”. I really want to support gay marriage after reading about their own intolerance of a religious organization.

My Facebook (market) Puzzle

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on October 13, 2008 by grisly77

I have a problem.

Facebook is a great networking tool, there’s no doubt about that. It allows you to connect and keep in contact with many of your friends, coworkers and perhaps future coworkers. It’s a GREAT communitcation tool, whether it’s to organize a party or getting a group together to go to the movies. It beats MySpace hands down. MySpace has more of a kiddie, high school feel to it.

Alas, the new design of Facebook sucks. Not just a little. Not just a tiny bit. A whole lot. It’s no longer clean, simple or user-friendly.

It’s annoying.

The problem with me is this: do I keep using it because I may (literally) NEED to use it to network though I find it utterly contemptuous, or do I stop using it in protest until the design goes back to normal?

This can, in fact, a libertarian question. Do I hope the market (users) forces the owner (whoever made this design flaw) to change it back to how it used to be? Do I deny the owner my number to be added to his list of millions of users? Or do I suck it up because i need the product – regardless of the poor quality?

…the answer? Well. I’ll let you know when I finally figure it out. After weeks of not using it, I am starting to consider giving into temptation. But giving in slightly betrays my ideals. Oh, free market! Must thou be so fickle?

Ohio Freedom Alliance?

Don’t know if anyone is aware of this, I wasn’t until today.

It’s a forum called the Ohio Freedom Alliance. It’s made of former Ohioans who were Paul supporters. Libertarians, Constitutionalists, and other liberty-lovers all particpate in this forum. It seems to be a good tool for organizing meet-ups or events.

I was told about it from Terri Owens, the secretary of the Constitution Party, while I was flyering for the Chuck Baldwin campaign.

For those who are looking to do something Monday night, Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin will be speaking at Capital University. Let’s hope he speaks a little better than Barr did last week.

I joined the forum, shamelessly plugging this blog. My user name is Cabin Fever, so if you get interested and register, drop me a line.

Bailout passes, sickness ensues

Posted in bail out with tags , , , , , , on October 3, 2008 by grisly77

I feel sick over this. Physically, I mean. Finally our congress puts its unwillingness to listen to the American people completely in the open. The bill even passed by a decent margin, though I congratulate the representatives who fought it.

To the ones who didn’t, I give them two middle fingers for screwing over the average American citizen and the entire middle class. Thanks for helping your power elite buddies. Where it goes from here is anybody’s guess. CNN calls it a ‘historic $700B bailout’, but historic how? Because it went against what everyone wished? That many economists said it was too large and wouldn’t do much anyways? Or because it signifies the final nail in the coffin for the American way of life? If Jefferson could say one thing right now besides ‘Help! I’m trapped in a coffin!’, I’m convinced it would be ‘You did WHAT!?’

Either way, I kind of want to puke. I’ll probably leave work early because I can’t stop thinking about it, hence why I am writing this in the middle of my work day when I have 17 more things due.

You live in America all your life and think ‘wow, I live in the most free nation in the world’ then something like this happens, and you notice your chains. They pull tighter and tighter. The food’s just out of reach. The firing squad outside of the barred window never stops.

You wake up from the American dream.

You pull at your restraints and realizing your misjudgement, you hang your head and sob while you whisper,

“God damn them…”

Contacting Your Congress About Bailout/Bailout Has Mass Pork

Posted in bail out with tags , , , , , on October 2, 2008 by grisly77

The Campaign for Liberty has everything you need right here. If the dollar means anything to you PLEASE contact your congressman and tell them you will NOT support them in an election if they vote ‘yea’ for the bail-out.

The site has a list for your senator AND representative. Send the letter to both of them. While you’re at it, and if you have the time, please call them as well. We need to tell our representatives they need to REPRESENT us and vote nay.

With that said, has anyone been following the new bill? It is now a gargantuan 435 pages. What congressman read the entire bill? Especially a document written by lawyers that was that long? Not only that, but the new bill is filled with pork.  In Glenn Beck’s recent editorial from his web page, he discussed the pork that has been placed in the bill:

Section 325 provides essential tax breaks for the wool research fund. What else do we need to know! Could we make sandwiches out of wool? No! Sweaters! What else do you need to know about wool! Section 503 gives tax breaks for the manufacturer of wooden arrows used in toys for children. Price tag, $6 million.

$700B for mainstreet indeed.

Bailout of the Beast

Senate Bill 666 passed. Er, the bailout bill. The one everyone has been writing about all week. The one meant to bail out Wall Street (oh, and main street! Our congress would never forget the little man!) and to help our flaundering economy. Because if there’s anything our economy needs, it’s giving incompetant corporations – ones that just drove themselves into the ground mind you – MORE money.

So it passed the Senate, what’s next? Well it has to pass the wHoR. How likely is this? Well…I would hate to say it, but it does not look good for anyone wanting small government. Surprisingly this includes Alec Baldwin who I don’t know if I have ever agreed with. Of course, Baldwin goes on to talk about the Bush administration (because he’s stupidly convinced he can place the blame on them). It’s not like his doll party, the democrats of course, had anything to do with it. Nooo it wasn’t the housing bubble caused by Carter and helped by Clinton. It was the bushies.

I think the Republicans who still like Bush have a name for it: Bush Derangement Syndrome. BDS. It’s a word to use on anyone who blames Bush and the Rep’s for every little thing that goes wrong, and I’d have to agree with them. It’s not just Bush or the Republicans. As much as I talk like it is, it’s not just Carter and Clinton and the Democrats. It’s the two party system that’s done this to us.

There are hardly any checks and balances when it comes to a two party system. They might not seem to work together too often (though I might argue against that point), but they ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS do when it comes to pushing out the third wheel.

Outside of the party system we can blame it on the regulations the parties have strapped the market with. Notice I do not say free, because that’s far from what we have and I would say we just moved a lot further away from having one.

So here’s hoping the House fails to pass their bill.

I contacted my representative, wrote columns, did everything I could to make sure Space knows I will do whatever I can to make him pay with his li-I mean seat! With losing his seat if he votes for this horrid anti-middle/working class bill again.

Quick anti-Obama, anti-McCain toon

So my liberal friend got pissed off at this video (I think because it had Obama being Muslim) and my conservative friend didn’t see much humor in it…so I knew it had to be good enough to share! It’s from the video site liveleak and focuses an old-war-mongering-crapping-in-pants McCain vs. a muslim-terrorist-loving-no-plan-having Obama in an all out brawl, entitled

They’re At It Again-McCAIN vs OBAMA in “SMACKDOWN!”
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=437_1222464068

It wouldn’t let me embed the window so you’ll just have to follow the link. It’s a bit over the top, sure, but it also makes a decent point – what choice do we really have?

May I have some more rocket fuel plzkthx

Posted in Government Intervention, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on September 25, 2008 by grisly77

Thank you Richard Nixon, thank you. I’m so glad you cared soooo much about the environment you made a government agency – never mind the government is the number one polluter – to look after it. It’s not like the EPA is saying rocket fuel in our water is ok because it doesn’t  “interfere with thyroid function and pose developmental health risks, particularly for babies and fetuses”…..oh. It does? Crap.

Wow. Another regulatory agency doing NOTHING. Whose surprised? Wheres the public uproar? Where’s the regulation democrats defending their poisoning of our water? What about the anti-regulatory Republicans (if there are any these days) denouncing the EPA? Maybe more importantly, where is our supposed MEDIA? Our “fourth state” which has ended up being EXACTLY that, nothing more than another strong arm of the law. Our media hides everything substantial and INSTEAD tries to ask HillDog if she has any advice for Britney Spears. Because Lord knows that affects our votes so much. Our media is completely worthless when it comes to issues, and instead focuses on the “rat race” (not that politicians are more than rats) of the election. If it was issues by themselves Paul would have carried the race….if Americans are logical….cough. Cough.

Don’t give me that crap about it being the Pentagon’s fault, pressuring the EPA. They’re a seperate government agency and to paraphrase Cartman from South Park, “they do what they want.”

Another “essential” governmental agency, NOT doing what it’s supposed to. Just sucking up our taxes and telling the government “no, that’s bad, please don’t do that” when it’s told to and  beating the hell out of the private companies with a bat when they step out of line.

Cut to the Quick II

If you need help understanding the current financial crisis, over at LRC, Lew Rockwell disects it to the bare bone of the issue. The post is about “fiat money” and how the crisis was made by creating valueless money out of thin air. It’s an interesting read.
